How often do we hear the words: I believe in you. I see you. All of you. I’m standing by you vAnd yet, these might be some of the most powerful words we can offer another human being.

Words that cost nothing – but mean everything.

Because here’s the truth: 99% of people struggle with believing in some part of themselves. Even the ones who seem successful. Even the ones with the titles, the achievements, the confidence. Beneath it all, there’s always that one corner of doubt – the part of themselves they question when no one’s looking.

And hearing those words? Feeling truly seen? That can shift everything.

But let’s flip the script. What if you are not hearing those words – not from others and not even from yourself?

  • What if deep down, you don’t want to grow?
  • What if you don’t want to take ownership?
  • What if staying the same feels safer than stepping into the unknown?

I get it. You’ve known you exactly as you are, up until now. It’s familiar, it’s comfortable, and honestly? It got you here. To your position. To your life as it stands today.

So why should you change?

Well, you shouldn’t. Not if you believe that staying the same is enough. Own that decision. But if that’s the deal you’ve made with yourself, then let go of the restless voice inside of you, that whispers and asks questions.

It doesn’t go away. It will keep calling whether you evolve or stay exactly where you are. Resistance never disappears.

As @Steven Prestfield writes in The War of Art (One of my all time favourite books)

Resistance will tell you anything to keep you from doing your work. It will prejure, fabricate, it will seduce, bully, cajole…Resistance will assume any form if that’s what it takes to deceive you…Resistance will not be reasoned with. It is always lying and it is always full of shit.

So the real question isn’t whether you change,

The question is who wins?

  1. The YOU that craves ease and comfort?
  2. Or the YOU that dares to enter the unknown, despite the battle raging inside.

The locked door – behind it is your next level, but resistance is the guard keeping you from opening it.

You get to choose but don’t pretend you don’t hear the battle.
